In fbaprepfinder's universe map, 59 of 575 candidates (10%) are not pure FBA prep. Pure FBA prep means the primary offering is inbound prep for Amazon FBA (receiving, FNSKU labeling, polybagging, bundling, inspection, forwarding), not general 3PL warehousing or multi-channel fulfillment.

How does fbaprepfinder verify a prep center?

Every published listing is checked against a 4-point standard before going live: the business is operating more than 12 months (state registry and LinkedIn-confirmed founders), FDA registration, when claimed, is confirmed from the registration confirmation FDA issued to the operator (food facility registrations are not publicly searchable; a claim we cannot confirm stays the operator's own statement), the website resolves with HTTP 200 and matches Amazon FBA keywords, and a manual editor review cross-checks seller forums and BBB. fbaprepfinder lists only what it verifies, not what it scrapes.

We have mapped 575 prep centers from public sources. 59 we classify as not pure FBA prep (general 3PLs, fulfillment platforms, or closed sites). 21 more look like pure FBA prep and are eligible for verification, and 15 we cannot classify with confidence yet. Separately, 463 listed centers currently pass our 4-point operator standard. We list only what we verify, not what we scrape.

How many FBA prep centers are actually pure FBA prep?

As of 2026-10-22, fbaprepfinder has mapped 456 US Amazon FBA prep-center candidates from public sources. 11% (52) are not pure FBA prep: general 3PLs, multi-channel fulfillment platforms, or closed sites. 17 look like pure FBA prep and are eligible for verification, and 358 published centers currently pass fbaprepfinder's 4-point operator standard.

What "pure FBA prep" means. Pure FBA prep means FBA prep is the core business, not one service line bolted onto a general 3PL or fulfillment platform. Multi-channel 3PLs never rank; they route to /fba-prep-3pl/ and, when they clear our verification, list in the directory typed as 3PLs.

Why it matters to a seller: a directory padded with 3PLs and closed shops sends you to dead phone numbers and the wrong kind of operator. We track the full universe, publish only what clears the standard, and keep the exclusions auditable.

Failed verification on integrity: no US facility behind a US-state-targeted page, and a cloned site carrying a false tax-free claim

Both had been machine-classified as pure FBA prep and failed only at the human 4-point review, which is why that review exists. FBA Prep at fba-prep.com is a real UK prep operator (Companies House-registered in Stoke-on-Trent) whose 'FBA prep services in Alabama' page is one of roughly 50 programmatic US state pages with no US facility behind any of them, plus stock-photo testimonials and footer link-farm injections; the Companies House entity behind it (no. 15590799) was incorporated on 24 March 2024 against a since-2017 experience claim on the site. Virginia Prep Center at virginiaprepcenter.com is a clone of prepcenterdelaware.com that still tells buyers it is 'sales tax free here in Delaware' while its only published warehouse address is in Herndon, Virginia, a state that charges sales tax, alongside contradictory pricing and placeholder blog content.

We imported amzprep.com's published 'Best 19 Amazon FBA Prep Centers' index as a candidate pool. 15 of them (including ShipBob, Ryder, Stord, DCL, Flowspace, ShipMonk, MyFBAPrep, eFulfillment Service, ShipHype, Simpl Fulfillment, AMZ Prep, YYZ Prep, Fulfillment-Box, Red Stag, Buske) primarily market themselves as 3PLs or fulfillment platforms with FBA prep as one offering among many. We list them as recommendations on /fba-prep-3pl/ instead. [Update 2026-10-05: three of these fifteen later cleared our typed verification standard and now list in the directory. ShipHype, now listed at its head office in North York, Ontario, and Simpl Fulfillment in Austin, Texas list as 3PLs. YYZ Prep lists as a multi-service operator in Canada; as a non-US center it does not appear in our US ranking.]

Re-screening 16 candidates that our classifier had left 'unclear', this time against each company's root homepage rather than the FBA sub-page the crawler discovered them on, confirmed 10 as multi-channel 3PLs: Staghler, KSP 3PL, Prep Partners Group, Full Prep Center, Midwest AWD, Launch Fulfillment, Foresmart, eHubSolutions, FLEX Fulfillment, and Coast to Coast Fulfillment. Each leads with general order fulfillment, warehousing, or freight across multiple sales channels, with Amazon FBA prep as one offering among many. They are excluded from the prep-specialist ranking and route to /fba-prep-3pl/; since July 2026 any of them that clears our verification can also list in the directory, typed as a 3PL. The same re-screen flagged 5 candidates that operate no prep facility: The Fulfillment Advisor (a 3PL and warehouse matchmaking directory), Prep Center Directory at prepcentersearch.com (a competing prep-center directory), a MapQuest auto-generated business listing, a Wyoming registered-agent and LLC-formation site whose only FBA mention is a blog post, and Catalist (whose domain now serves an unrelated outdoor-gear store, with the old FBA-prep page returning a 404).

A second root-homepage re-screen of 16 'unclear' candidates confirmed 12 more as not pure FBA prep: 3PL Bridge, Shipping and Handling, Excel3PL, Warehouse-Pro, Fulfillment CO, and Swifthouse are multi-channel 3PLs and fulfillment centers; Super International Shipping, Hongocean, USNA Warehouse, and Universal Shipping Inc are cross-border freight forwarders where shipping to Amazon is one line; Marknology is an Amazon PPC and marketing agency with a warehouse; and Boxette is a consumer package-forwarding platform. How this compares with Amazon's own provider directory.

Amazon operates a Service Provider Network (SPN) with an "FBA Preparation" category, and it is where Amazon staff point sellers who ask for prep help in the Seller Forums. We checked that category on July 28, 2026, as an anonymous US visitor, with full page-by-page counts. The numbers below are what its own pages print.

For accuracy: SPN's category header reports 114 providers worldwide; walking all ten result pages yields 111 distinct companies. SPN is Amazon-operated and free for sellers, and nothing here says otherwise. The comparison is narrower than that: a seller choosing a US prep partner sees more prep centers here, each with a dated verification trail, than in the directory Amazon itself maintains.

This study is not a pricing benchmark.

This study is about who is and is not a real prep center, and how we check. We previously declined to publish pricing aggregates because too few centers disclosed rates publicly. As of June 2026, enough verified centers publish per-unit rate cards that we maintain a separate annual FBA Prep Pricing Index, built only from published, dated rate cards (never self-reported survey numbers). Where an operator publishes rates, we also show them on that center's profile and on /fba-prep-fees/.
