Amazon FBA Q4 2026 deadlines.

Every inbound date Amazon has actually published for Q4 2026, taken from Amazon's own peak readiness page and re-fetched the day this page was updated. Six arrival deadlines across two events, the peak fee window, the storage step-up, and the date meltables come back. Plus the part Amazon does not publish: how far ahead of an arrival deadline you need to hand inventory to whoever preps it.

These are arrival dates, not ship-by dates. Amazon's wording is that inventory must arrive at its facilities by the date shown.

Published inbound deadlines

Two events, six dates.

Amazon publishes inbound arrival deadlines for Prime Big Deal Days and for Black Friday Week with Cyber Monday. Each event has three dates, and which one binds you depends on the channel and the shipment-split option on your inbound plan. Source for both tables: Amazon Seller Central Q4 2026 peak readiness (help reference G4QH4XCRWUXRJBLY), fetched 2026-07-28, corroborated by Amazon's Seller Forums Holiday 2026 announcement and by Supply Chain Dive (July 13, 2026).

Prime Big Deal Days

Arrival deadlineChannelWhat it means
September 2, 2026Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD)Earliest of the three. AWD sits upstream of the fulfillment centers, so it needs the longest runway.
September 9, 2026FBA, "minimal shipment splits" selectedYou chose to send to fewer destinations and paid an inbound placement fee for it. Earlier deadline is the tradeoff.
September 16, 2026FBA, "Amazon-optimized shipment splits" selectedAmazon's own note: most sellers select this option. If you are not sure which applies to you, it is probably this row.

Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday

Arrival deadlineChannelWhat it means
October 14, 2026Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD)One week ahead of the earlier FBA date. AWD inventory still has to move downstream into an FC before the event.
October 21, 2026FBA, "minimal shipment splits" selectedFewer destinations, earlier cutoff. Seven days tighter than the optimized path.
October 28, 2026FBA, "Amazon-optimized shipment splits" selectedThe latest published FBA arrival date of Q4 2026, and the one most sellers are actually on.

What the deadline actually buys you.

Amazon frames these as the dates by which inventory must arrive for your products to be Prime badge-ready during the event. That is a badge-eligibility deadline rather than a stated refusal deadline: Amazon does not say late inventory is rejected, it says on-time inventory is badge-ready. On the highest-traffic days of the year that is the difference the dates are really about.

Deal submissions run on their own calendar.

From the same Amazon page: Best Deal and Lightning Deal submissions close September 8, 2026 for Prime Big Deal Days and October 20, 2026 for Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday. Amazon also offers $50 off the upfront fee per deal scheduled by August 5, 2026 (Prime Big Deal Days) or September 5, 2026 (Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday).

The row you are on

Minimal splits or Amazon-optimized splits?

The seven-day gap between October 21 and October 28 is not a grace period. It is a different shipping choice, made earlier, when you built the inbound plan.

  • Minimal shipment splits sends your inventory to fewer destinations. You pay an inbound placement service fee for the convenience, and your arrival deadline is the earlier one: September 9 for Prime Big Deal Days, October 21 for Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday.
  • Amazon-optimized shipment splits lets Amazon distribute the shipment across more destinations, which reduces or waives that placement fee. These get the later deadline: September 16 and October 28. Amazon's own annotation on this option is that most sellers select it.
  • Amazon Warehousing and Distribution is a separate upstream channel, not a split option, and it always runs earliest: September 2 and October 14. AWD inventory still has to move downstream into a fulfillment center before the event, which is what the extra week covers.

If you do not know which option your shipments use, open the inbound plan in Seller Central and check rather than assuming. Guessing wrong in the optimistic direction costs you a week you do not have.

Work backwards

The arrival date is not your deadline. It is your prep center's.

Amazon publishes the arrival date. What determines whether you hit it is when inventory reaches whoever preps it. The band below subtracts carrier transit and prep turnaround from each published arrival deadline. Assumptions are stated in full underneath, because the output is only as good as they are.

EventAmazon arrival deadlineHand off to your prep center between
Prime Big Deal DaysSeptember 9 (minimal splits)August 18 to August 28, 2026
Prime Big Deal DaysSeptember 16 (optimized splits)August 25 to September 4, 2026
Black Friday Week and Cyber MondayOctober 21 (minimal splits)September 30 to October 12, 2026
Black Friday Week and Cyber MondayOctober 28 (optimized splits)October 7 to October 19, 2026

The assumptions, in full.

  • 5 to 10 business days from prep center to Amazon fulfillment center. Small parcel tends toward the low end; LTL and FTL freight toward the high end, because palletized shipments need a receiving appointment. This is a planning band, not a carrier commitment. Confirm your actual transit time with your carrier.
  • 2 to 5 business days of prep-center turnaround, from receipt of your goods to outbound. Turnaround varies by center, by SKU complexity, and by how loaded the center is in October. Ask your center for its committed Q4 turnaround in writing rather than using this number.
  • Business days exclude weekends and Labor Day (September 7, 2026).
  • Not included: your supplier. These windows start when goods reach the prep center. Manufacturing lead time, domestic freight from your supplier, and ocean or air freight from overseas all sit upstream and add to the total. Ocean freight from Asia alone commonly runs weeks, not days. Add your own upstream leg on top of every date in the table.
  • Q4 compresses turnaround at prep centers because everyone is working backwards from the same published Amazon dates. The high end of each band is the realistic one in October.

What Q4 costs

Peak fees, the surcharge on top, and the storage step-up.

Three separate cost changes land in Q4, and they stack. Treating them as one line item is how sellers underprice the quarter.

1. Holiday peak fulfillment fees: October 15, 2026 to January 14, 2027

Applies to FBA, Remote Fulfillment with FBA, Multi-Channel Fulfillment, and Buy with Prime. Amazon states the per-unit increase over non-peak rates matches last year, and put the figure at an average of about $0.32 per unit. Read average literally. Differencing Amazon's published peak and non-peak fee tables gives the split behind it: small-standard units run about $0.19 to $0.22 higher, with the oversize tiers carrying the rest. Do not apply the average across a mixed catalog. Source: Amazon Q4 2026 peak readiness page for the window, the FBA fee rates page for the per-tier tables, and Amazon's Holiday 2026 seller announcement for the $0.32 average, which Supply Chain Dive quoted independently on July 13, 2026.

2. The 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge, on top

Effective April 17, 2026, Amazon applies a 3.5% fuel and logistics-related surcharge to FBA fulfillment fees in the US and Canada, extended May 2, 2026 to Buy with Prime and Multi-Channel Fulfillment. It is calculated on the fulfillment fee, not the sale price, and averages about 17 cents per unit in US FBA. Amazon's Q4 page confirms it applies to holiday peak fees as well, so in Q4 the two compound: peak rate first, then 3.5% of it. Amazon has announced no end date and describes the surcharge as temporary. Our FBA fee calculator models the surcharge alongside referral, fulfillment, and storage fees.

3. Monthly storage roughly triples for standard-size

Amazon's peak storage period runs October through December, on a different calendar from the peak fulfillment fee window. Base monthly storage goes from $0.78 to $2.40 per cubic foot for standard-size, and from $0.56 to $1.40 for oversize. Those are base rates: sellers whose storage utilization ratio exceeds 22 weeks also pay a storage utilization surcharge, which takes peak standard-size to $4.28 per cubic foot at a 52-week-plus ratio. The sellers most exposed are the ones holding slow-moving inventory through the quarter. Source: Amazon monthly storage fee help page (G3EDYEF6KUCFQTNM), fetched 2026-07-28.

The prep-side lever on all three is the same: send less dead inventory, and send it in a form that gets received cleanly the first time. A rejected inbound in October costs the peak fulfillment fee, the surcharge, the return freight, and the event. Our FBA prep requirements reference is the rulebook that determines whether a shipment is received or refused.

Meltables

Meltables reopen September 28, 2026.

Chocolate, gummies, and select jelly and wax-based products are blocked from Amazon fulfillment centers over the summer and come back right as Q4 inbound starts. Amazon's current policy: fulfillment centers will not accept shipments of listed meltable ASINs between April 20, 2026 and September 28, 2026, and accept meltable products as sellable inventory again from September 28, 2026 until the window closes the following April. Meltable means a high risk of melting at 155 degrees Fahrenheit. Amazon publishes the governing ASIN list and updates it periodically.

The April 15 to October 15 window you have probably read is Amazon's 2022 policy.

It is still widely republished, including by prep centers and tool blogs, and it is wrong for 2026 by more than two weeks on the reopening date. These dates also move year to year rather than sitting on a fixed annual rule: in 2025 Amazon reopened meltable inbound early, on September 22, by separate announcement. Confirm the current window on Amazon's meltable inventory page (help reference G202125070) before you ship, which is where we fetched the dates above on 2026-07-28.

Two practical consequences for Q4. The September 28 reopen falls after both Prime Big Deal Days FBA arrival deadlines (September 9 and September 16), so meltable SKUs cannot hit either one and will not be badge-eligible for that event. They have to run seller-fulfilled or wait for Black Friday, whose earliest FBA deadline is October 21. And a prep center with climate-controlled storage can hold meltable inventory through the closed window so it is staged and ready to move on the 28th rather than starting its journey then.

What Amazon has not published

There is no Christmas FBA deadline for 2026.

Amazon lists three Q4 2026 events on its peak readiness page: Prime Big Deal Days, Black Friday Week with Cyber Monday, and Christmas. It publishes inbound arrival deadlines for the first two only. As of July 28, 2026 there is no published FBA arrival deadline for Christmas 2026, and we are not going to invent one.

Two December dates circulate and get presented as FBA deadlines. Neither is one.

  • December 18is a carrier pickup recommendation from Amazon Shipping for seller-fulfilled parcels, published in the 2025 edition of Amazon's peak readiness material. It is a different product from FBA inbound and a different year.
  • December 22 is a buyer-side last-day-to-order date for Prime delivery by Christmas, from December 2025 consumer coverage. It tells you when shoppers stop buying, not when your inventory has to be in a fulfillment center.

What to do instead: plan Christmas replenishment against the October 21 and October 28 Black Friday arrival deadlines and your own sell-through rate. Inventory that lands for Black Friday is in position for December. Amazon typically publishes consumer-facing holiday delivery cutoffs during November and December; if it publishes a seller-side Christmas inbound date for 2026, it will appear here with its source and the date we verified it.

How we verified this

Every 2026 Amazon date on this page was fetched from source on July 28, 2026.

Q4 deadline content has a specific failure mode: last year's dates republished with the year swapped. Amazon moved several of these dates between 2025 and 2026 in both directions, so a recycled page is wrong rather than approximately right. The 2025 Black Friday inbound dates were October 9 (AWD), October 20, and October 30; the 2026 equivalents are October 14, October 21, and October 28. Any page showing October 30 for 2026 is running last year's numbers.

  • Arrival deadlines, peak fee window, and deal submission dates: Amazon Seller Central Q4 2026 peak readiness (help reference G4QH4XCRWUXRJBLY), fetched directly, plus Amazon's Seller Forums Holiday 2026 announcement.
  • The $0.32 average: Amazon's Holiday 2026 announcement, independently corroborated by Supply Chain Dive (July 13, 2026). The surcharge stacking on peak fees is stated on the Q4 2026 peak readiness page itself.
  • The 3.5% surcharge and the per-tier peak and non-peak fee tables: Amazon's FBA fee rates page (GABBX6GZPA8MSZGW), plus Supply Chain Dive (April 2, 2026) for the surcharge, the same sources our fee calculator cites.
  • The 2025 comparison dates and the two December figures: Amazon's 2025-edition peak readiness material and December 2025 coverage, both identified as prior-year on the page where they appear.
  • Storage rates: Amazon monthly storage fee page (G3EDYEF6KUCFQTNM), including the utilization surcharge table.
  • Meltables: Amazon meltable FBA inventory page (G202125070).

We have no prep operation of our own and no stake in which center you use, so nothing on this page is engineered to make a deadline look tighter than Amazon published it. The same standard governs the directory: our verification methodology explains what we check before publishing a center and what we refuse to assert.

FAQ

Q4 2026 deadline questions.

What is the Amazon FBA deadline for Black Friday 2026?

There are three, and which one applies depends on how you ship. Inventory must ARRIVE at Amazon by October 14, 2026 for Amazon Warehousing and Distribution shipments, October 21, 2026 for FBA shipments with minimal shipment splits selected, and October 28, 2026 for FBA shipments with Amazon-optimized shipment splits selected. Amazon notes that most sellers select the optimized option, so October 28 is the operative date for most sellers. These are the dates Amazon publishes for Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday Prime badge eligibility on its Q4 2026 peak readiness page.

Are Amazon's Q4 deadlines arrival dates or ship-by dates?

Arrival dates. Amazon's wording is that your inventory must arrive at its facilities by those dates. Everything upstream of arrival is your problem to schedule: prep-center turnaround, carrier transit, and for freight shipments the receiving appointment. That is why the published date is the end of your planning, not the start of it.

What is the difference between the October 21 and October 28 FBA deadlines?

The shipment-split option you selected when you created the inbound plan. Minimal shipment splits sends inventory to fewer destinations and carries an inbound placement fee; those shipments must arrive by October 21, 2026. Amazon-optimized shipment splits lets Amazon distribute across more destinations and waives or reduces that fee; those shipments have until October 28, 2026. Amazon's own note on the later row is that most sellers select the optimized option. Check your inbound plan rather than assuming.

Is there an Amazon FBA deadline for Christmas 2026?

No. As of July 28, 2026, Amazon lists Christmas as a Q4 2026 event but publishes no FBA inbound arrival deadline for it. The only published 2026 inbound deadlines cover Prime Big Deal Days and Black Friday Week with Cyber Monday. Two December figures circulate and neither is an FBA inbound deadline: December 18 is an Amazon Shipping carrier-pickup recommendation for seller-fulfilled parcels, from the 2025 edition of Amazon's peak readiness page, and December 22 is a buyer-side last-day-to-order date for Prime delivery. Plan Christmas replenishment against the Black Friday dates and your own sell-through.

When do Amazon holiday peak fulfillment fees apply in 2026?

From October 15, 2026 through January 14, 2027, per Amazon's Q4 2026 peak readiness page. That covers FBA, Remote Fulfillment with FBA, Multi-Channel Fulfillment, and Buy with Prime. Amazon says the per-unit increase over non-peak rates is the same as last year, and stated an average of about $0.32 per unit. It is an average across size tiers, not a flat adder: small-standard units run closer to $0.19 to $0.22 more, while oversize tiers carry the average.

Does the 3.5% fuel surcharge apply on top of Q4 peak fees?

Yes. Amazon's Q4 page states the fuel and logistics-related surcharge applies to holiday peak fulfillment fees. The surcharge took effect April 17, 2026 at 3.5% of the fulfillment fee, not of the sale price, averaging about 17 cents per unit in US FBA. Amazon has announced no end date and characterizes it as temporary. For Q4 planning the two stack: peak fulfillment rate first, then 3.5% on top of it.

How much do Amazon storage fees increase in Q4?

Base monthly storage moves to the October through December peak rate: $2.40 per cubic foot for standard-size and $1.40 for oversize, up from $0.78 and $0.56 off-peak. Those are base rates. Sellers whose storage utilization ratio exceeds 22 weeks pay a storage utilization surcharge on top, reaching $4.28 per cubic foot for standard-size at a 52-week-plus ratio. Slow-moving inventory sitting in an FC through Q4 is where the storage bill actually lands.

When can I send meltable inventory back to Amazon FBA?

September 28, 2026. Amazon's meltable inventory policy refuses shipments of listed meltable ASINs between April 20, 2026 and September 28, 2026, then accepts meltable products as sellable inventory again from September 28, 2026 until the window closes the following April. Meltable means products at high risk of melting at 155 degrees Fahrenheit, including chocolate, gummies, and select jelly and wax-based products. Note that the widely republished April 15 to October 15 window is Amazon's 2022 policy and is wrong for 2026, and that these dates move year to year, so confirm the current window before shipping.

When should I hand inventory to my prep center for Black Friday?

Working backwards from the October 28 optimized-splits arrival deadline, and assuming 5 to 10 business days of carrier transit plus 2 to 5 business days of prep turnaround, the hand-off window is roughly October 7 to October 19, 2026. For the tighter October 21 minimal-splits deadline it is September 30 to October 12. Those are planning assumptions rather than commitments, and they exclude your supplier lead time and any international freight, which you add on top. Confirm actual transit time with your carrier and actual turnaround with your prep center.
