The honest framing

Why there is no official WFS facility directory.

Walmart does not publish a customer-facing or seller-facing list of WFS FCs the way Amazon publishes fulfillment center codes in Seller Central. The picture has to be assembled from corporate news posts and Business Wire releases.

Walmart has a two-layer fulfillment story. The next-generation FCs are the high-tech, high-density-storage facilities Walmart has announced individually since 2022. Walmart corporate news has published full street addresses for two of them (Joliet IL and Greencastle PA) and city-state pairs for the other two (McCordsville IN and Lancaster TX). A fifth was announced for Stockton CA, targeted for 2026.

The wider distribution network, which Walmart cites as 150+ distribution centers plus 40+ dedicated e-commerce fulfillment facilities, is not publicly mapped to street addresses. Some industry coverage names the traditional WFS city-state pairs (Lancaster TX, Colton CA, Pedricktown NJ, Las Vegas NV, Orlando FL) but those are recycled across 3PL blog posts rather than primary disclosures.

We publish what Walmart has individually disclosed and flag what is industry-cited rather than corporate-cited. That keeps this page accurate even when the SEO-content sites in the niche publish address lists that don't trace to a real source.

The wider WFS footprint

Traditional WFS sites cited in industry coverage.

Beyond the next-generation FCs above, WFS seller inventory routes through Walmart's broader distribution network. These city-state pairs appear in multiple 3PL blog summaries and in Walmart's general marketplace messaging. We publish the city-state level only; street addresses circulating online for these sites don't trace to Walmart corporate disclosure.

The seller economics

WFS vs FBA: the fee comparison that matters.

The single biggest reason to add WFS as a second channel is the fee gap. Walmart is generally 15% cheaper on fulfillment-plus-subscription-plus-storage for the same SKU mix, per industry comparisons. Headline rows below.

Walmart's 2026 New-Seller Savings program adds 25% off WFS fulfillment fees and 50% off WFS storage fees (capped at $2,000 combined), plus referral-fee and ad-spend credits totaling up to $75,000 in headline value for sellers who go live after February 1, 2026.

For FBA sellers considering WFS

What a prep center needs to support both channels.

If you already use a prep center for FBA inbound and you want to test WFS as a second channel, the marginal cost is low IF the prep center can produce Walmart-compliant shipments. Two practical concerns.

  1. Inbound labeling regimes differ. FBA wants FNSKU labels applied per unit. WFS wants the manufacturer GTIN/UPC visible and intact, plus a Walmart-generated shipment label on the outer carton. Prep centers that handle FBA but have never processed WFS Inbound sometimes apply FNSKU stickers over UPCs out of habit, which causes WFS receiving issues. Ask explicitly whether your prep center has processed WFS Inbound shipments before.
  2. Carrier and routing decisions are different. FBA inbound uses Amazon Partnered Carrier rates by default. WFS Inbound uses Walmart Marketplace Inbound Solutions (Cross Border + domestic ground), with different LTL break-points and different palletization rules. A prep center that does FBA palletization well doesn't automatically do WFS palletization well; ask for examples.

Our verified prep centers are listed with their channel-support flags where the operator has confirmed multi-channel work. If you want a prep partner that handles both FBA and WFS, start a match and call that out as a requirement.

FAQ

Common WFS facility and fee questions.

How many fulfillment centers does Walmart operate?

Walmart's wider US distribution network is approximately 210 distribution centers as of early 2024 per MWPVL industry analysis, plus 40+ dedicated e-commerce fulfillment facilities and roughly 4,700 stores that fulfill ship-from-store orders. Within that broader network, Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) seller inventory routes through a smaller subset, including four next-generation high-automation FCs that Walmart has opened and disclosed individually (Joliet IL Sept 28 2022, McCordsville IN June 15 2023, Lancaster TX Oct 17 2023, Greencastle PA May 17 2024), with a fifth planned in Stockton CA in 2026. Walmart does not publish a public WFS facility directory, so the verified list of next-gen FCs is limited to what corporate news posts and Business Wire releases have named individually.

Where are Walmart's next-generation fulfillment centers?

Four are open as of May 2024 with verified street addresses and sources: Joliet IL (1.1M sq ft, 3501 S. Brandon Road, opened Sept 28 2022), McCordsville IN (2.2M sq ft, 5259 W 500 N, opened June 15 2023, Walmart's largest), Lancaster TX (1.5M sq ft, 2500 Belt Line Road, opened Oct 17 2023), and Greencastle PA (1.5M sq ft, 1915 Ebberts Spring Court, opened May 17 2024). A fifth was announced for Stockton CA (900K sq ft, 150 Mariposa Road, targeted 2026, announced via Business Wire Oct 12 2023). Each features Walmart's automated high-density storage and retrieval system that compresses a manual 12-step fulfillment process to 5 steps, per Walmart's own corporate language.

How is WFS different from Amazon FBA?

Four headline differences. (1) No seller subscription: WFS has no $39.99/mo equivalent of Amazon's Professional Selling plan. (2) Lower referral fees: 6-15% on WFS vs. 8-45% on Amazon. (3) Year-round flat storage: $0.75/cu ft vs. Amazon's $0.78/cu ft (Jan-Sep) plus $2.40/cu ft (Oct-Dec) seasonal spike. (4) No long-term storage penalty for a year, vs. Amazon's aged-inventory surcharge starting at 6 months. WFS is generally 15% cheaper overall on fulfillment plus subscription plus storage for the same SKU mix, per industry comparisons. Where Amazon wins: scale, Buy Box velocity, Prime customer demand, and the FC network density that makes 1- and 2-day delivery a default expectation.

Can the same prep center handle both Amazon FBA and Walmart WFS inventory?

Many can. The inbound labeling regimes differ (WFS uses GTIN/UPC plus a Walmart shipping label, FBA uses FNSKU plus an Amazon shipping label), and the carrier/routing differs, but the underlying prep work (inspection, polybagging, bundling, kitting, FNSKU vs. UPC application) is the same physical activity. A prep center that already supports FBA can usually add WFS support without infrastructure changes, provided they understand the WFS Inbound shipment rules and can produce Walmart-compliant labels. When you talk to a prep center, ask explicitly: do they support WFS Inbound? Have they processed shipments to Joliet IL, Lancaster TX, Colton CA, Pedricktown NJ, Las Vegas NV, or Orlando FL? Concrete answers beat vague yes.

Does Walmart publish addresses for every WFS fulfillment center?

No. Walmart corporate news has published street addresses for the next-generation FCs (Joliet IL at 3501 S. Brandon Road, Greencastle PA at 1915 Ebberts Spring Court), but the city-state pairs commonly cited for the broader traditional WFS network (Lancaster TX, Colton CA, Pedricktown NJ, Las Vegas NV, Orlando FL) appear in industry coverage rather than primary Walmart disclosures. Some 3PL blog posts publish specific street addresses for those traditional sites, but the sourcing traces back to industry analyst reports, not Walmart corporate. We treat city-state pairs as confirmed and decline to publish unverified street addresses.

What is the Walmart 2026 New-Seller Savings program?

Walmart announced a New-Seller Savings program for sellers who go live on the Marketplace after February 1, 2026, offering up to $75,000 in total value. The named pieces include 25% off WFS fulfillment fees and 50% off WFS storage fees, capped at $2,000 in combined savings, plus referral-fee credits and ad-spend credits that make up the rest of the headline number. The fulfillment-fee discount is the most material for sellers comparing WFS to FBA economics through year 1.

Does WFS deliver on weekends like Amazon Prime?

Walmart delivers Saturdays and Sundays for many WFS-shipped orders, with availability depending on the destination zip code and on slot capacity in the serving FC. Walmart+ members ($12.95/mo or $98/yr) get free shipping with no order minimum on most non-grocery items. Operator-side, weekend delivery is a configurable fulfillment setting in Walmart Seller Center, per Walmart Marketplace Learn. For multi-channel sellers, Sunday-delivery parity between WFS and Amazon Prime is real for many SKUs in metros where both Walmart and Amazon Logistics have dense last-mile coverage.

Should an FBA seller add WFS as a second channel?

It depends on category, margin, and operational bandwidth. The case for: lower total fees, an under-saturated marketplace relative to Amazon, and a 2026 fee-credit program that softens year-1 costs. The case against: lower customer volume per SKU on Walmart, a different listing-quality bar, and the operational overhead of running a second inventory pool with separate inbound labeling, separate returns workflows, and separate seller-support escalation paths. Sellers who already use a prep center that handles WFS Inbound have the lowest marginal cost to add Walmart as a channel. Sellers who self-prep face a larger workflow change.
